This role will focus on identifying and executing licensing opportunities within the Asian content ecosystem. You will work closely with content publishers, platforms, and writers based in Japan. The impact and success of this role will depend on the ability to find the right content which can be localized for various global markets and the terms of licensing. - Lead all aspects of the content acquisition process, including content acquisition strategy, deal sourcing, negotiation, structuring, forecasting, and contract review. - Identify content opportunities and partnerships with writers, studios, content owners, and aggregators. - Develop and create acquisition plans, financial metrics, and goals by data analysis, customer preferences, and market dynamics. - Drive continuous improvement in all operational aspects of Pocket FM’s relationship with its content suppliers - Dive deep and analyze customer viewership data, focus groups, online surveys, in person interviews, external benchmarking, and other forms of secondary research. Analyze metrics/results to drive improvements in acquisitions strategy
- Open for local Japanese only - Have native level proficiency in Japanese and English, both written and verbal - Education: Graduate with minimum 5 years’ Working experience - Background in the publishing industry is desired - Minimum of 5-12 years of experience in content acquisition and/or business development with a track record of closing deals - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable communicating with senior management; capability to build and maintain strong internal and external business relationships - Minimum of 3+ years of experience at a publishing (book, author, stories, etc. content) company in business development, content licensing, or content acquisition role - End-to-end ownership of major project deliverables - Self-starter who is customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, and an enthusiastic team player
