Job Overview And Responsibility

(1) Financial planning, analysis & management: - Advise on investment activities and strategies that the company should take based on detailed financial anlaysis - Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans and budgets. - Provide financial reports, interpret financial information to managerial & executive staff and recommend further courses of action - Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment - Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational & CAPEX requirements - Manage the preparation of the company’s budget; develop trends and projections for the company’s finances - Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities - Maintain the financial health of the organisation - Maintain banking, shareholder & investor relationships; - Assist in determining the company's proper capital structure; arrange for equity and debt financing - Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained - Use hedging tools to mitigate financial risks related to the interest rates on the company's borrowings, as well as on its foreign exchange positions (2) Controllership - Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Trucking, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition - Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, cash reconciliation, and financial forecasts, and report variances - Review cost return and analysis to support business activities - Work closely with senior management to forecast, monitor, review and control CAPEX costs - Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements - Support month-end and year-end close process - Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting - Work with line management to refine business KPI’s for performance measurement - Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors on audit and taxation matters - Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting - Manage and comply with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings - Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls - Work closely with the Portfolio Manager to implement above controls, systems, and financial reporting (3) Human Resource Management - Oversee operations of the finance and accounting department, set goals and objectives, and design frameworks & incentive systems for these to be met - Accountable for the performance of subordinates or lack thereof - Design & implement the approved departmental HRM plans (including hiring, promotions, transfers, etc.) - Design & implement departmental training programs and curriculum; periodically evaluate the training results and its effectiveness - Conduct training courses and general coaching to ensure adequate knowledge & skills for the subordinates and the team to do the job effectively - Develop the team and human resources in accordance with the company development plan - Develop close & professional relationships with subordinates; constantly motivate the team - In coordination with the HR conduct periodic personnel evaluation; and together with the management decide on HR issues, including bonuses; promotions; transfers; discipline; dismissal. - Periodically report & participate in meetings in accordance with the company policies - Perform tasks & duties assigned by direct & indirect superior - Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken - Periodically travel abroad as per requirements of the job

Required Skills and Experience

Education: University graduate: - Degree in accounting & corporate finance (preference for overseas education) - CPA is required (CMA is a bonus) - Experience with creating financial statements, investment analysis, calculating hurdle rates and return profiles - Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process Experience: From 3 to 5 years in the position of Finance Manager or Deputy Finance Manager - Proven working experience as a Financial Controller, Fin - Who understands asset valuation, project analysis and so forth. Foreign languages: - Fluent English in 4 key areas of communication (listening, speaking, reading & writing) - Preference for candidates with TOEIC 750+ or other equivalent certifications. Computer skills - Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint - Excellent accounting software user and administration skills Analytical & problem solving ability: Requires ability to: aggregate & analyze complex, diverse data; extrapolate problem-solving solutions; implement those solutions at the departmental level Planning skill: Macro socio-economic vision and professional knowledge is necessary, as the job requires for drafting of annual work plans Proactivity: High level of proactivity is required, as the candidate is expected to promptly make proposals for improvement, adaptation and mitigation of risk Information processing: Requires ability to handle complex & diverse sets of data and information sourcing from multiple directions (top-down; bottom-up; horizontally) Creativity: The candidate is expected to have a creative mind, in order to apply new knowledge/technologies to improve current products or operations Personal preference: - Sex: Unimportant - Age: 27+ - Health: Good - Family status: Unimportant Other skills - Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures - Comprehensive analytical & excellent numerical skills (attention to detail is required) - Excellent time-management, planning, and prioritising. - Can work well independently, under pressure and deadlines - A leader & team player who effectively integrates, motivates and builds relationships with cross-functional team members (local or remote), clients, key stakeholders, etc.
